This commemorative poster was designed for Miller Canfield's Top of the Park reception last Thursday at Ann Arbor's Summer Festival. Miller Canfield employees, clients, and community members gathered to enjoy food and music. Thanks to all who made this event and the entire year of giving back to Ann Arbor a success!

Volunteers had fun helping time races, coordinate competitors, measure distances, and cheer on athletes at the Michigan Special Olympics.

Mitten Tree

The 2009 office holiday tree was a mitten tree to benefit the Ann Arbor Community Center’s Emergency Assistance Clothes Closet for distribution to needy community members. New or used mittens, hats and scarves in child and adult sizes adorned the tree. In addition, the office gathered gently used coats for donation.

Neighboorhood Senior Services Project

Volunteers raked and bagged leaves at several homes in Ann Arbor.

American Cancer Society

Volunteers completely reorganized an entire area of the ReUse Center retail facility.

Habitat for Humanity

Volunteers contributed to the renovation and landscaping of two Habitat homes in Ypsilanti.

Just in time for Back-to-School!

We delivered 50 backpacks and a cash donation to the Bryant Community Center for the school's back-to-school backpack drive, benefiting low income students.

In Summer 2009, volunteers worked a ticket booth at the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival Rubber Duckie Race for ElderQuest (Continuing Education at Eastern Michigan University).

In Fall 2009 for Arts Alliance, lawyers provided information for the arts and cultural community on intellectual property, taxes, incorporating, labor and employment, and additional topics as requested for individual artists, as well as entrepreneurs, and organizations involved in the arts and cultural community.

Paving the way

In August, volunteers improved visitor trails and beautified trailways for the Creekshead Nature Preserve of the Legacy Land Conservancy.

What's all the Hoopla?

The Ann Arbor office purchased three bike hoops to be placed around town in honor of the Ann Arbor Art Center's 100th Anniversary. Check out the fun-looking hoops near the court house, Zingerman's and Farmers' Market!

Here's Joe Fazio, resident director of Ann Arbor, with one of the hoops in our office lobby. The Center sent over a nice thank you letter and has framed this photo of the hoop with our women lawyers. Hip hoop hooray!

Washtenaw County Bar Association's Edible Garden Project to benefit Avalon Housing

In honor of the 25th Anniversary of the Ann Arbor office of Miller Canfield, residents of the office participated in the Spring Avalon Housing Community Event sponsored by the WCBA Public Services Committee.

"Project Grow" planted flowers and edible gardens for the Housing residents on Saturday, May 30.

Miller Canfield Celebrates 25 Years in Ann Arbor!

In honor of our 25th anniversary in the Ann Arbor area, we'll be supporting 25 nonprofit organizations throughout the year. More details to come as we near the official kick-off date of July 3, 2009!
